Scooby Dooby Doo

Phew, I've been kinda busy; not overwhelmingly, but just enough to keep me away from the computer more.
School is getting better/going fine. For Media, a small group and myself are doing a kinda mini-series...WITH ZOMBIES! I know, awesome. The first of four episodes is suppose to air during the morning news tomorrow.

The reference to Scooby Doo is because I'm pretty sure I'm going as Daphne for Halloween (one of my favourite holidays) and my friend Chris will be going as Shaggy and his friend possibly Freddy. Pretty awesome, I know. If only I had a license to drive my Dodge van around as the Mystery Machine.

This weekend my friends and I did a video project for our English class; Purestate Insurance, insurance for the Puritans. The video turned out good and funny, so that's great.

For now though, I'm going to go help my dad with something and later a friend o' mine will be over. Tootles!

Lax

I'll probably be posting blogs sufficiently less now that school has started. I'm kinda also trying to stay off the computer more and do things in a timely fashion (ei. homework).

So, this year is fun already. I have a good mix of teachers, all of them great. The workload, I can tell, is going to be brutal though; especially for someone whose middle name is procrastination...

Well not much to let you know, but I guess I'll leave a new post in maybe two weeks or so :)
(By the way, the picture above is from the September 12th March on Washington. These times they are a'changing)

fatigue

Buenos Dias! A few days back our district went back to school, woot! All my classes are for the most part awesome. The teachers are cooky, interesting and each with their own distinct style of teaching. I just dislike how out of the way my locker is from everything now; I'll figure something out eventually...

Not much else has happened in this stretch of time. Oh wait! Actually, on Sunday night (good story) my friend Chris called to ask if I would want to drive up to NY with him and his family to see the Blink-182 concert in Saratoga Springs. I'm not a huge fan of Blink's but what the heck, what an awesome way to end the summer. So Monday morning we left, drove 5 hours or so and got to the hotel. Hung around, swam a bit then headed to the concert. Turns out, Blink had CANCELLED! (due to Dj AM's recent passing). Anyhow, Weezer then was thrown into the main event and played a freakin' awesome two-hour set, one of the greatest performances I've seen live, most definitely.

Next day on our way home we stopped to hike and see a waterfall (Caterskill? Phonetically). Saw three cool waterfalls hiking up this neat area with large stones, and tree roots everywhere. We got to the top and were amazed at this super tall waterfall out of nowhere. It was really cool to be there.

Probably longest post I've posted :)
Godspeed friends.

Saturday

So, I've really just been working mostly. I've tried to see District 9 twice already, and it just hasn't happened :\

Today my friend Jess and I are heading over to Shelby's so that we can stay over. In the morning tomorrow all three of us are going to leave early to visit Montclair University, up in north Jersey. All of us are pretty interested in the school, and for me, it'll be kinda the first school I've checked out. We'll see how it goes; I actually think I'll bring my camera!
Well, I have to great the new day. Slept the latest I have all summer! Phfew, here comes the sun ;p.

22 August 2009

Pandora, School, Phone

I signed up for Pandora Radio, free and awesome!
It is so cool, highly recommended. You plug in the artists/songs/genres you like, and it'll just play. You can either give the song a thumbs-up or thumbs-down, and it will basically learn your interests. Neato!

Also, school starts for EHT on September 2nd! I am pretty excited for this year, I have to tell you. I have some really good academic classes, along with great electives. Junior year's gonna be a blast.

Finally, I got a new phone :D The enV 3. It's a really great phone in all honesty. Makes texting a whole bunch easier (I never liked it before). Got a good deal for a hardshell case, a memory card and a car charger. Woot!

*Side note-
I also bought those shoes up there; snazzy.
Zappos is such an awesome company.

Morning

Wow, I feel so motivated today and I don't know why. I was up at 6:30am (which could have been the fact that I didn't sleep well due to my incredibly itchy thoat) and have already showered and blow-dried my hair. AND I'm making eggs and Morning Star sausage links (mmm, not meaty-goodness).

Later today, after work, I'm having a bunch of friends over. It was going to be another bonfire, but it's supposed to be wicked hot out, and I didn't feel like gathering up all that wood ;p

That should all go well.

(That's Picasso up there there :)

New bike / new shirts

I bought a new bicycle today at this never-ending junk sale down at the shoremall. It's an old Raleigh; really cool. The gear shifters are down below the handlebars (I hardly know anything about bikes, anyways). It was $85 and is in pretty sweet condition.

Also, my shirts from Threadless came today. I got six because they're having a back-to-school sale, with shirts starting at $8! They are all really neat and are of quality fabric (a must ;p )

I've been working a bit, and trying to see my friends more. Jessica and maybe 'Lyda should be coming over tomorrow, and then on Monday I'm trying to get everybody over here. We'll see how that goes.
Thinking about hitting the sack early tonight :)

31 July 2009

wedding/moon

I went to see "Moon" finally the other morning. I like going to the early morning shows before 2pm because they're only $5. Anyway, the film was very good. You could definitely pick up on the "2001: A Space Odyssey" inspiration (I guess you'd call it). It had the same "wtf just happened" feel to it. Pretty much a two-hour long mindfuck. Really good though.

Tomorrow my family's going to my second-cousin's wedding; definitely will be a good time. Anytime my whole family gets together (either side) it's always fun.

On another note, I have little bug bites all over me. There must have been a mosquito or two in my room last night -sigh-. So anyway, have a nice weekend. I'm glad I have off Sunday.

28 July 2009

Harry Potter and Stop-Motion

My friend Shelby and I are going to see the new Harry Potter movie at the IMAX tonight at midnight. I've heard it's very "dark".
This morning I rode over to the high school, which still looks like a war zone from all the construction, and helped out again with the opening day video. The video is a Lego stop-motion of construction. Through the years I've created my own stop-motion videos -

Mediocre at best, but I still like them a lot. So, on my agenda soon is to make a new one. Something classy, interesting, and just plain neat. I really liked the one Ross Ching did for the Death Cab for Cutie song "Little Bribes." Check it out.

I'll leave all of you with that (I pretend that I have tons of followers).

26 July 2009

Aches and pains

I am online so much, I find so many interesting sites and images (I usually save the pictures that I think are neat).

Okay, I'm not sure why it's happening, but my shoulder/back/chest/left side is in so much pain. This is the third day of this crap and it really doesn't seem like it's getting any better. When I woke up it hurt to move, to cough, to breathe and to blow my nose. Basically anything that involved using muscles there, I guess. I called out of work because there was just no way I could make it through the day. I'm hoping it gets even a little better so I don't have to call out tomorrow.

I helped paint part of my Aunt's store, Little Egg Harbor Soap Co.. I helped with filming the "Welcome Back" video for the first day of school in September. I helped install a fan in my kitchen with my dad. I'm just a helping fool lately; and now I'm pretty much crippled.

Here's to getting better! Enjoy your health.

19 July 2009

Working

So, I work at the local Saladworks. Surprise! You have six days this week, ha. Well there's a flash flood warning for next paycheck if ya'know what I mean ;)
I got my sister's old bike all fixed up and cleaned it myself, I'll be riding that around for awhile. I also almost have my permit! Cool cool.
This week seems so busy; I have so many things I want to do with so many people. There's still august, though.

I'm also planning on seeing "Moon" at the theatre down the street with my friend. I was so surprised when I heard it was playing there, thinking it would only be shown in large cities. Thanks Franks Theaters!

I think other than that it's laundry time, and then maybe I'll ride around for a few. 'Lyda and Jess are supposed to come over, but I haven't heard from them.

12 July 2009

Camping

That's my room (part of it anyway). Tomorrow my family leaves to do a little camping up in Pennsylvania. Four days at Knoebels Amusement Park, whooo. It should be a good time, this is the third year going.

Yesterday, my friend Tyler and I went to see some bands play. It was Ezra Joyce's last show (check them out on Myspace); definitely worth the half hour drive. There were a handful of other bands too, all talented. I like those bands so much better than the "Firehall" bands that are just trying to "make it big."

So, other than that it's dinner time, WOOT!
I actually have some projects lined up. Two music videos for local bands and a Zombie Film. yes. YES.

07 July 2009

Bicycles

Isn't that bike awesome! (Sigh) My bike recently, through unfortunate circumstances, had it's rear wheel bent. I know nothing of the mechanics of bicycles, but I love to ride them. So, it's either I have that fixed, or I go buy a tube for my sister's old bike. Last time I tried to change the tube of a geared bike it didn't get put back together correctly. I'll have to decide soon; this weather is sooooo nice.

01 July 2009

Title-less

Well, the start of summer has been fine so far; I'm not one at all to complain.
The other day I bought some new sneakers online, and a memory card for my new camera as well. (I lost the other somewhere in between Phoenix and Philadelphia :\ ) . I was more upset with loosing the pictures I had on the card than the camera itself. The new one has 12.1mp, though, so not too shabby.
Hm, I think I'm going to start making short-films with my one friend soon. It makes me feel better that I won't just be sitting around when I'm home.
I'm personally hoping for a zombie flick (I bought liquid latex and fake blood) but we'll have to wait and see if he'll go for that.
I'll show you my shoes when the get here; It should be today actually. I love UPS tracking, I feel like a CIA agent or something.

Summertime

Wowza'///
Okay, here's a super-time-lapse of the year:
-Musical went awesome (I didn't get to see the performances for personal reasons).
-Was out of school for a little over a week, and the workload and loneliness almost took my life (Why didn't I blog about it?)
-Made it all the way to finals, though! Most of them were alright. English seemed fine, Chemistry = 90, Algebra II = 83 (still earned a 93 for the marking period though!), I didn't study for history at all so let's just forget about that.
-Working at Ye Ol' Saladworks still, and applied at the local theatre to try and rake in as many billz as possible this summer.

Well, other than that I'm pretty content with life as of late. Sunburned shoulders and newly blonde hair, ha. Life's alright.

I'm going to try and "blog" a little more lately. I always find myself just sitting at the computer looking for things to do. The comic above is from xkcd.com (I highly recommend it if you have any love whatsoever for science/math/humor).

Adios amigos!

21 March 2009

busy

Well, as I am not a very avid blogger, I feel sparse posts are perfectly acceptable. The beginning of spring is here. That also means the start of the musical at my High School. This year it will be "Anything Goes" - Cole Porter. It seems pretty neat. I am in the tech crew, so I have nothing to do with the singing or anything like that. But, today started the immense load of structural work we have to complete for the show to go on. A SHIP! We have to build a ship! So far it's actually almost complete. Basically the whole frame is done. eventually we will have a time lapse of the entire project (which will be very cool to see).
It looks just like the picture above. Musical is always fun. I get to see a bunch of my friends everyday for hours and hours. So much fun happens, good times ensue.

11 March 2009

Paris Vacation

Well, it has been a month since my family of 6 traveled to another country, but I have the pictures all uploaded and such for anyone who would like to see.
The whole trip was great. Had its ups and downs (of course), but overall was funny, entertaining, informative, exciting, and quite an experience.
These would be the rest of the pictures.

21 February 2009

Home Sweet Home

Oh my gosh is it comforting to be back in your own room. Two weeks in another country is awesome but brutal. I loved the trip, but it's even better to get home.

06 February 2009

This is my Mac. I usually don't name things, but this was special. Her name is Susan.

Well, other than that, I am anticipating things to get pretty hectic around my house tonight and tomorrow. My family of six is going to be traveling to Paris, France. We've been slowly preparing for months, but I feel like it snuck up on us. I'm sure my dad is going to do his normal, "We're never doing this again! Don't expect to go anywhere!" But we're used to that by now. The fact that we have never been out of the country as a family is a little daunting in itself, but hey, live and learn. Or get deported for some reason. Who knows. I know it'll all go well though. But, it's gonna be intense.
Later alligator!

02 February 2009

Illness

Happy Groundhog day! I am sick again. It seems I'm sick a lot these days. Oh well. I'm glad it's now and not in a few days (PARIS!).
Just an update (for all my avid followers...), midterms are over. English was really easy. Algebra II was alright too, only because on multiple choice math tests you can substitute and plug-in all you want.
I have to read some Frankenstein now, then going to sleep; bliss.

28 January 2009

Midterms and tea

So the health midterm was retarded. We had two hours to do it, everyone was finished halfway through the first. The Chemistry one threw me though. I thought I was doing fine and well, but with about 30 minutes left I was only at question 60 of 100.  I am so glad she let me stay to finish it, thank you. I think I did terrible now. Ugh, and when I', disappointed in myself my stomach feels funny. Let's hope tomorrow goes better, which it should (history and media). Plus, I think I'm gonna get the tea pot above :)

25 January 2009

Sunday Night

I can hardly believe it's already the end of January. This school year has been going by so fast, and I bet next year will go even faster. In the beginning of February I'm going to Paris with my family. Oh boy is that going to be crazy. I'm pretty excited for that.

21 January 2009

Misc.

Today I had a Tea Party with my good friends Tyler and Greg. We drank Vanilla Chai and Marco Polo, talked good talks and later we jammed a bit in Garageband. Overall, it was a swell night. Little bit of film, little bit of music and over six cups of tea between us.
Speaking of film and tea; The Suburban Tea, a short from the Insomnia Film festival, is one of my favorites. It's just so aesthetically pleasing and simple at the same time. Check it.
Other than that not much going on. We started a bit of physics in chemistry :) I can't wait until I take it next year.
Bed soon.

19 January 2009

First Snowfall

First snowfall here in EHT. Took me by surprise because I was inside in my room all day and hadn't noticed. So I went out at about 10pm to take it all in. I had somewhat of a snowball fight with my 9 year old brother and his two friends, and they basically pwned me furizzle. But eh, it was a fun time.  I'm thinking about getting up early (anything before 11am is early for me) and going outside again in the snow. Then I think my mah and sister are going to run errands or something, so I'll tag along. Then work at 4pm. I is a salad master.

17 January 2009

Tonight was my second time seeing this movie. I cried three times the first viewing, but was prepared for the second. Still a tear jerker, but in the best way. The ending is sad and it hurts, but it makes you appreciate a lot. Plus, Brad Pitt in his "30's" is quite a sight for sore eyes. I recommend it, definitely. Afterwards you'll be really glad you aren't aging backwards.

16 January 2009

I found these images on Flickr by SToppin. If anyone actually reads this eventually check out with other works. They are pretty neat. I love the top one, it's just so intense.
Also, all the other great photos I've been seeing in other blogs make me want to break out my camera again and put some of my own up. Maybe I will in the near future. For now, Explosions in The Sky is wonderful.

Tests this week

Today I took a Chemistry I test on Thermodynamics. Bombed it. Totally failed only because I hadn't studied the right stuff, hadn't studied at all actually. I never study, and somehow I get by.I also got my US History I test back from last week and received a 76%. Also because I hadn't studied. I hadn't even read the chapter. So, although it's late, one of my new years resolutions is to study more and keep up. Midterms are coming soon and I'm going to be really prepared.

15 January 2009

This is the first day of my blog...

So, blogging. Lately I've been stumbling upon more and more interesting blogs. Pictures, so many pictures. It's so neat how someone, who you would have never known otherwise, can show you so much.
